Lactose-Free vs. Dairy-Free vs. Non-Dairy

Though all of Monster Yogurt’s Sorbet and Italian  Ice flavors are vegan, lactose-free, dairy-free, and non-dairy we thought we would explain the difference.

Lactose-Free

• -Lactose (milk sugar) is neutralized by lactase
• -Creates sweeter tasting milk products
• -May still contain casein & whey

Dairy-Free

– Does not have any milk products or milk ingredients

• -Will not contain lactose, casein, or whey

-Good for milk allergies, lactose intolerance & may be vegan

Non-Dairy

– Term regulated by FDA

– Allows for milk proteins like casein, whey, &other derivatives

-Look for additional dairy-free or vegan labels, if needed
